Aw man! Look at the San Diego hotel keys people are getting for Comic Con. Wish I was there. But I'll be there next year! Propbably every year from now on because ....

... today is the day my little nephew flew off to join my sister to start their new life in San Diego. *snif*

I think I was more emotional about buying him that Pokémon game for his new Nintendo DS as a going away present than he was. That's two uprooting moves in five years for the boy (NYC -> Somerville -> SD); my sister says he'll be okay and it'll toughen him up. I hope so. He's a great kid.

Baby's First Internet

Still addressing my lightning-induced computer problems, but getting closer to fixing everything. Probably some blown ethernet port somewhere between me and the internet. Some file loss as well, including a big project I've been working on without a backup. Me cry now.

In the meantime, Gawker hits upon something that's always bugged me about the Olympic mascots: they all stink bigtime.

Good: Spent all day with my nephew, with tons of spoilage.

Sad: He goes to San Diego to meet up with my sister on Thursday. *sigh* Well good luck to them starting their new life.

Bad: I come home to find my computer apparently fried by the lightning storm. *crying*

I came back from Colorado all sick and tired so my Con report will have to wait. :( But I can honestly say I now have a "Contana" of my own to recall fondly. :) It was faaaaantastic.

For some reason, any time I go away, I can;t even bring myself to think about the trip until the last minute. So in typical fashion it just really sunk in that my flight leaves tomorrow morning at 6am. Crap. And of course I'm not packed, don't be silly. I did kinda do some laundry this weekend so all is not lost.
